On March 26, Wynand Steyn, Academician of the South African Academy of Engineering and Dean of the University of Pretoria, James Maina, Academician of the South African Academy of Engineering and Vice Dean of the University of Pretoria visited Chang'an University. President Sha Aimin, in company with the heads of Office of the President, Institute of Science, Office of the International Cooperation and Exchange and School of Highway, met with the guests in the meeting room of Beichen Building on Weishui Campus.

President Sha Aimin welcomed the visit of Academician Wynand Steyn and Academician James Maina. He said that Chang'an University and the University of Pretoria have been in friendly exchanges for more than 20 years, and have a deep foundation for cooperation. He briefly introduced to the guests the history, scale and discipline characteristics of Chang'an University, focusing on how CHU utilized the advantages of its disciplines to promote international exchanges and cooperation, and praised the scientific research cooperation between the two parties. He said that the two universities complement each other's academic advantages and have a broad space for cooperation, he hopes to take the visit of the two academicians as an opportunity to further promote more and deeper cooperation between the two universities in the fields of mutual visits and exchanges, scientific and technological cooperation.

Academician Wynand Steyn expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and briefly introduced the basic situation of the University of Pretoria. He pointed out that the University of Pretoria is willing to carry out a comprehensive cooperation and conduct multi-level joint student cultivation and scientific research cooperation, especially in the fields of transportation engineering and business administration. He hoped that through the in-depth exchanges between teachers and students, the two universities could advance collaboration in multiple fields and establish a closer cooperative relationship.
